Analytical Essay

Analytical essay is a form of essay in which it is written with an aim of gaining a better understanding of a given topic.

The introduction part of the analytical essay gives a brief account of the topic being analyzed.  The introduction part should be as interesting possible so as to captivate the interest of the readers.  The analytical introduction should give a brief description of the author and the necessary background information about the topic. The background information should major on giving the reader a summary of the major points that will be analyzed in the analytical essay. The background information is important for it helps to establish a point of view for the reader so as to make the reader to anticipate what to read about in the analytical essay as well as to start interpreting the topic to be analyzed.

The thesis statement is the last sentence of the introduction part of the essay and it is a sentence which defines the central argument which will act as the main guide of the essay analysis.  The thesis statement is the central theme of the topic being analyzed which guides the overall analysis to be analyzed at the body part of the essay and what the essay is aimed to argue.

The body part includes specific points, examples and elaboration aimed at answering the question why. It may include descriptions, comparisons, passages or quotations which support the main point being analyzed. All support points should have a link with the thesis statement. The point should be analyzed without bias or prejudice and should be aimed at adding value to the analytical essay. Furthermore the points should be well organized and analyzed such that they give a smooth flow of information that will help the reader to have a clear understanding of the analyzed point so as to be able to make the user arrive to a meaningful conclusion.

The last paragraph of the analysis essay is the conclusion which includes a brief summary of the main points raised in the body part of the analytical essay. It should emphasis that the essay has proofed the points raised in the analytical essay and should leave the reader with a lasting impression of the marvelous ideas in the essay and something to continue thinking about.
